One of the best places to find buttons, trims, and other materials for less- The Thrift Store

Over the last couple of years I've learned that the thrift stores are the one of the best places where I can find buttons, zippers, lace, fabrics, or design inspirations. Usually I don't even bother to go to the fabric store, I go
Sometimes, I find a perfect piece of fabric for a new design project. Sometimes, I safe a lot money on buttons for new pieces of clothing, but sometimes I just undo the garment and draft the pattern using the garment pieces.
I really save once I shop while a store runs 50% off- I pay $.90- $5 or less for a set of 6 to 13 buttons!
Recycling clothing can be fun :)

Have you ever purchased clothes by pound?

One of my best friends brought me to a Goodwill store while visiting Nashville TN.
I've been in many thrift stores before, but I never purchased the clothes by pound.
There was no fear to overspend the money because I had to fly home in two hours so  I couldn't buy much. Besides, the store was about to close. I had only 35 minutes to dig in the bins.
However, I was happy with my purchases. Besides 10 scarves, I was especially happy with Dolce &Gabbana jean and a summer cotton/lace dress. I spend only $3.52 for 12(!) items of clothes.
I feel like that sometimes shopping in the thrift stores can be more cost effective compare to the mall shopping.

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure

Recently I went to the thrift store to look for more inspirational treasures. I took a few pictures of beautiful embroidery and found a few 100% silk designer neck scarves which I could not resist. The price was unbeatable and after I washed them, I am looking forward to wear these treasures.
