Working with large scarf-print fabrics can be very challenging,
especially if you have bought only one leftover piece. Originally I was going
to make a maxi dress with solid black back, but finding a similar color and
quality black or red color fabric was impossible. I had the piece of fabric for
at least three years until I came across a very simple sweater pattern, and
then I decided to use this pattern idea and make a tunic-top. I used 99% of fabric and I had no scraps left, in fact I had to use rayon lining for all my facings.I really liked the final garment!

Have you ever purchased clothes by pound?
One of my best friends brought me to a Goodwill store while visiting Nashville TN.
I've been in many thrift stores before, but I never purchased the clothes by pound.
There was no fear to overspend the money because I had to fly home in two hours so I couldn't buy much. Besides, the store was about to close. I had only 35 minutes to dig in the bins.
However, I was happy with my purchases. Besides 10 scarves, I was especially happy with Dolce &Gabbana jean and a summer cotton/lace dress. I spend only $3.52 for 12(!) items of clothes.
I feel like that sometimes shopping in the thrift stores can be more cost effective compare to the mall shopping.
